A rundown on Puerto Banus
The beautiful marina is the main hub of Puerto Banus, lined with cafes, shops and restaurants with a stunning mountainous backdrop. A stroll around the harbour gives you a chance to ogle at the fabulous vessels that moor here. You can catch a glimpse of what life would be like if you ever won the lottery!! The harbour entrance is a great place to watch the sunset over Gibraltar before heading of for a relaxing cold drink. Marina side dinning comes at a price, but here most can afford it!
Around Puerto BanusPuerto Banus is a relatively small resort - most of the area can be seen on foot and this really is the beauty of the place. Most of the action is centered around the Harbour, although there are plenty of taxis & local tour companies should you be wanting to go further afield, for a short hop into Marbella, or to discover the Costa del Sol for example.
ShoppingIn this exclusive resort you will find many designer boutiques from Channel, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana. Great for window shopping.. which is good as this may be the only option at these prices. On Saturday's next to the bull ring is one of the Costa del Sols biggest street markets selling local arts and crafts. You will also find a branch of the Spanish department store of El Corte Ingles just off the marina.
BeachesThe beaches of Puerto Banus are wonderfully sandy and clean. The main beach is located just east of the marina, this stretches for approx 1 km. It’s very popular during the summer months offering many water sports. Sun beds and umbrellas are also available to hire, as with many of the Costa del Sol's beaches. The waters are very clean and safe for swimming. Restaurants and cafes can be found at the rear of the beach. If the main beaches get a little too busy for you then you can always head to the other side of the marina where a string of less touristy beaches stretch westwards.
