Bars
A city full of pubs
Beer, or as the locals say ‘Pivo’ is not in short supply in Prague. The Czechs know their beer - it’s a deep part of Czech culture and history. Watering holes are plentiful, choice of beer is good and opening hours are often long. In short it’s cheap and tastes good!!
AbsintheAlthough beer is king here there are plenty of bars, pubs and wine bars offering alternative beverages. Absinthe is served in many bars in Prague. Its stench is unmistakable! Given that is it illegal to serve Absinthe in many countries the measure that are served here should be treated with extreme caution.
AreasOut of Prague’s many districts the following possibly offer the highest concentration of wateringholes:Praha 1 – This includes the old town, Hradcany, Mala Strana, the Jewish quarter and new town. Here you will find a high number of tourists. Choice is plentiful – in places prices can be a little higher than average.Praha 2 – The areas of Vysehrad and Vinohrady is full of bars, pubs and restaurants. Here you can find many traditional Czech pubs. Some favourite Prague bars here at StagBookers: Lavka bar (Jewish Quarter) – well known bar offering superb views over Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge. Also turns into a club with party edge to the music. Popular with stag and hen parties.George and Dragon Bar (Old Town) – Good beer on draught and 13 screens of sporting action playing.Café de Paris (Old Town) – if you are looking for an alternative to beer, this cocktail lounge should suffice. Baracnicka Rychta (Mala Strana) – Authentic Czech beer hall. Good atmosphere. No food just good beer on draught.
