A guide to Ibiza Town

A visit to Ibiza Town is a must when staying on the island. With a great combination of sights, restaurants and shops. You can escape the middy sun in the cobbled streets and enjoy the waterfront views from the marina.

Ibiza Town is not as full of Hippies (or Harries as the locals used to call them!) as in the past, but it still carries a slightly eccentric air. Most things go here, in parts its nightlife can be quite hedonistic. That’s the beauty of Ibiza Town the jetset, the ‘wanna be’ hippies, families and youngsters on their first parent free holiday all mix together in the streets and bars creating a unique atmosphere!

This is a great town and there is a lot to see in Ibiza town; The D’alt Vila in the Old Town with its stunning views over the bay. The Marina is home to many fabulous yachts and good restaurants. The Sa Pena area is unique with its Arab style buildings and of course the shopping.

From markets to tiny boutiques Ibiza Town is full of fantastic restaurants, bars and clubs. From dinner al fresco in the D’alt Vila to clubbing Ibiza at the superclub Pacha.

D’alt Vila in the Old Town

D’alt Vila translates to ‘high town’ meaning the views are great from the top of this beautiful part of Ibiza Town. This area is a protected UNESCO World Heritage site. With a maze of cobbled streets and restaurants serving meals al fresco. Great to wander around if the afternoon sun gets a little too hot as it can do. Some great little shops in this area too.

Sa Pena

The Arab style buildings of Sa Pena are unusual with their overhanging balconies. You will find plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants in this area – gets quite busy in the evening.

Marina

At the Marina you can admire the beautiful yachts that are moored here. From the reasonably sized to the downright extravagant. Great to enjoy a drink at one of the marine side restaurants and bars and just watch how the other half live!

Shopping

There are plenty of places to shop in Ibiza Town. From the ‘Hippy Markets’ to the tiny designer boutiques. Great for artwork, leather goods, shoes and tourist trinkets. Some great clothes shops and several good food stores.
